Thank you for your work, and for articulating this. I think it’s hard for people to understand how much emotional labor and exhaustion can come from writing honestly about hard experiences on the Internet because there’s so much writing and information, much of it free. People don’t value things that they can read, in bulk and for free, no matter how valuable or how high the quality. And because it’s so easy for people to just access you via a comment or response, that access is so easily misused to retraumatize writers and survivors all the time. Your work is a gift. Thank you for reminding those of us who do this work that our work is a gift and that we get to choose how we interact with those who don’t treat it as such — if we choose to engage at all.

And, hey, they don’t call it work for nothing.
